Wellington turned it on for Ed Sheeran’s return to Sky Stadium, rain and all. With over 35,000 fans in the crowd, a steady drizzle falling, and Sheeran commanding the stage solo with just a loop pedal and a guitar, this was one of those rare nights where everything aligned for unforgettable live music photography.

The weather didn’t dampen a thing – in fact, it added to the magic. Ponchos turned to flags, jackets were tossed aside, and the crowd danced, shouted, and sang through every moment. From the fireworks and stage visuals to the stripped-back, intimate feel of Sheeran’s performance, it was a dream event to document with my camera in hand.

As a Wellington event photographer, these are the moments I chase: genuine emotion, big energy, and a city that knows how to show up for live music. Whether it was families making memories, mates belting lyrics in the rain, or Sheeran himself grinning through a loop pedal hiccup (It’s how you know it’s all live!) – this night had it all.
