Jim Beam Homegrown 2014

Having previously shot Homegrown a number of times since 2009 (when it hasn’t clashed with wedding clients) I had pretty good expectations of how good the event would be. However, I was blown away! The best part is, I can’t even put my finger on what it was that made this Homegrown stand out for me. Yes it had the best stellar line-up, the sun was out, new stages were added, and as always there were ten’s of thousands of revellers packed on to Wellington’s waterfront. It could just be a combination of it all that made this Homegrown simply epic.

This year I was Jim Beam & Homegrown’s official photographer, supplying images to their respective social media & marketing teams live from the media pit. These photos were being instantly shared through their social media pages which collectively have over two million followers! By having the photos instantly, their PR agencies were able to supply news outlets with images as soon as they were happening, which was great when they welcomed Kora to the Dub & Roots Stage for History Unannounced – a surprise act!

Blacklistt (aka the new-Blindspot) also asked me to video their performance on the Rock Stage, so the footage can be used in their soon-to-be-released music video for their new single “Always”.
